Dennis Powers for State Representative

Representative Dennis Powers, a lifelong Tennessean, grew up in LaFollette, TN, where he learned the effectiveness of faith, family, fiscal responsibility, and limited government in both his personal and professional life. Dennis has been a vocal advocate for conservative government in the 36th district and throughout the state. Dennis’ philosophy is that the government works best when it is accountable, restrained, and focused on empowering people and not controlling them. He built his career on conservative principles and practical results.

Before his tenure at the state, Dennis spent over 37 years in the insurance industry with Nationwide and Allstate, gaining hands-on experience helping families and small businesses protect what matters most. Dennis is a conservative fighter for the 36th district who stands with President Trump to fight for the America First Agenda in Tennessee.

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. He and his wife of 38 years, Tracy, have dedicated their lives to serving their community through education, faith, and civic involvement.

Throughout his career, Dennis has been awarded multiple accolades, including Legislator of the Year, Guardian of Small Business, Champion for Prosperity, and Defender of Freedom awards. He currently serves as Chair of the House Private Acts Committee and holds key roles on commerce, state and local government, and business-related committees.

Above all, Dennis Powers remains focused on protecting conservative Tennessee values, strengthening local communities, and keeping government accountable to the people it serves.
